A NATIONAL police operation on Monday morning between 6.30am and 10.30am, saw more than 250 cars inspected and a further 1,000 monitored by police across the Algarve.
The initiative was especially focused on checking that there was suitable safety seating in cars for children under 12 years old.
In total, there were 30 breaches of the highway code found, 12 of which were related to child safety seating.
The small number of infringements was accounted for by police as a result of increased education surrounding child safety seating through the Safe School initiative.
