HOUSE PRICES in the Algarve are the highest in the country, with prices averaging 1,708 euros per square metre in the region.
This is higher than in Lisbon, where the average is 1,651 euros per square metre, and Porto at 1,271 euros per square metre.
The statistics released by CI/LardoceLar.com for the second quarter of 2008 also revealed that private housing prices were continuing to rise in the Algarve, with a 1.2 per cent increase in comparison to the first three months of 2008.
