A bike ride from Tavira to Boticas, close to the northern border with Spain, is taking place from June 7 to 9.
The 14th Portugal de Lés-a-Lés will see more than 1,000 bikers ride along national and municipals roads, and even some dirt tracks, passing through Covilhã and Serra da Estrela to get to their final destination. Organisers say the event aims to show participants what it was like to travel “in the not-so-distant past before the motorways, taking in the beautiful landscapes and people”.
