For some people, their life simply would not be the same without the invaluable help they receive, or have received, from someone special and the Algarve Resident, in association with somewherespecial.org.uk, is looking to reward these often unsung heroes.
Do you know someone special? Perhaps this is a person who is there everyday for you as a carer or is the carer of a loved one. Or maybe a member of the medical profession has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help you.
These special people may have done something truly amazing but equally there are those whose small regular input makes the world of difference to people. Perhaps they take you shopping each week, help you with your animals or are an important friend to keep you company.
If you know someone like this then this is your chance to sing their praises and let the world know how much their involvement in your life means to you while winning a prize for this person as a small thank you for their help.
The best entry will win a two night stay at the luxurious Tivoli Marina Vilamoura for the nominated person while the second best will receive beauty vouchers worth 150 Euros from Estética Dermalógica and the third placed entry will win a meal for two at Bistro des Z´Artes in Almancil.
All you have to do is write a maximum of 300 words about the special person in your life explaining why you think they deserve to win and send this in to the Algarve Resident complete with a picture of yourself and the nominated person.
Please email your entry to [email protected], putting the words ‘Someone Special’ in the subject box. Please ensure that you include your full name and the name of the person you are nominating, your address and a contact telephone number. Any entries without a telephone number cannot be accepted.
The carer of the winning entry, as chosen by an independent panel, will win a two night stay at the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura, with breakfast and dinner on one of the nights, valid until December 30, 2011 but not during July, August, New Year´s Eve and Easter.
The carer from the entry chosen in second place will win a voucher worth 150 Euros from Estética Dermalógica and the third place winning entry will receive a dinner for two, excluding drinks, to be taken on Friday or Saturday evening at Bistro des Z´Artes as donated by Chef Jonnie Pratt.
The closing date for the competition is Monday, November 22 at midday and the winner will be notified by phone on the same day.
The winning entry complete with photograph will be printed in the November 26 edition of the Algarve Resident while all the other entries will appear on the Algarve Resident website.
