THERE’S a new source of good quality women’s fashion in the Algarve and at lower-than-chain-store prices. Revivals is a new treasure, discretely tucked away within the Griffin Bookshop in Almancil.
Among ‘fashionistas’, buying second-hand clothes has become the smart way to add something gorgeous to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. Now you can bag a bargain in the Algarve too! You will find a wonderful mixture of brand-new, ex-boutique stock and good quality, second-hand pieces at very low prices.
Imagine yourself in a classic Valentino trouser suit for just 50 euros (normally 500 euros new), or a trendy leather blazer for just 25 euros!
Everything has to be cleaned and in good repair before it is sold in Revivals – you won’t find any ‘tat’ – and the sizes cater for a tiny size 8 to a generous 18. You can sell your good quality clothes through Revivals – which means you can recycle your unwanted clothes to finance treating yourself to something new!
The idea behind Revivals came about following the huge response to the recent Designer Fashion Sale, organised to raise funds for a new school for tsunami victims in Phuket. Many women who came to the event said that they’d always wanted to find some use for their unwanted designer clothes, but hadn’t wanted to see them ending up in a rummage pile.
A total of 5 per cent of all Revivals’ sales proceeds will be donated to ACCA, the Algarve charity that benefits underprivileged children throughout the region and, if you donate your items, 55 per cent of the proceeds will go to the charity.
