They once ruled the world of rock but are more whimper than a bang now and as a final nail in the Guns N’ Roses coffin of demise, guitarist Slash has declared that the band will “never” reform.
The curly haired rocker has said that he was offered hundreds of millions of dollars to reunite with Axl Rose but has turned it down.
“It is sad that something so good doesn’t exist any more, even though we’re both still alive and on the same planet,” said Slash.
Axl Rose is equally unforthcoming about a reunion after telling reporters last year: “One of the two of us will die before there is a reunion.”
It is a badly kept secret of the rock world that the two members of Guns N’ Roses have failed to speak to one another for the past 13 years and although the band has never actually split up, another tour or album is highly unlikely.
Slash added: “When we were on stage together, we were a real force but it got to the point off stage where it was impossible for us to even be in the same room together.”
