PRO.VAR, the national association representing Portugal’s restaurants insists current ‘restrictions’ are continuing to cause unprecedented losses within the sector. In some cases, president Daniel Serra has said, businesses’ are down by 50%. The requirement for clients to show Covid Digital Certificates/ negative tests – and the imposition of remote working (meaning fewer numbers of potential clients) – have all had their toll. PRO.VAR is calling for ‘compensatory measures’.
