Restaurants close

HEALTH AND safety inspectors working with GNR officers shut down two restaurants in Quarteira last week and arrested two men for possessing illegal weapons.

Health and safety infringements were discovered at both establishments and the owner of one of the restaurants, who illegally possessed a gun, was also suspected of possessing stolen goods valued at 7,000 euros.

Drugs were found on five members of staff, who were given warnings on the condition that they attend toxic dependency meetings. The arrested men later appeared in court, where the restaurant owner was remanded into preventative custody, pending residency status verification.
