Restaurant review – Bunkers Bistro & Grill

Deliciously innovative cuisine

Located on the outskirts of Almancil on the road to Fonte Santa, Bunkers Bistro & Grill is rapidly becoming a favourite destination for those in search of culinary delights.

Owner/chef Simon Brader and his wife Caroline work hard to make your visit a memorable one. Chef Simon has a natural flair for producing innovative cuisine. Everything that comes from the kitchen is produced from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

With an outside terrace for alfresco dining, Bunkers is a cosy restaurant offering an interesting and varied menu, including crab parcels with lobster sauce, monk fish with a pea purée wrapped in Parma ham and dill sauce, wild boar with chocolate and chilli sauce, sauteed prawns and scallops on a bed of chilli leeks with balsamic dressing. The specials menu changes daily depending on available fresh produce.

Saturday evening is steak night, priced at €16.95 per person including a half bottle of wine per person, and on Sunday try the delicious carvery lunch for €10.95. A good selection of wines is on offer.

End your meal with homemade ice cream and sweets.

If you want to enjoy something different at reasonable prices, then give this bistro a try. The service is excellent and the staff attentive. The restaurant is closed on Sunday evening and all day Monday.

Reservations are advised.
