Breeze Restaurant in Vale do Lobo has received so many applications for a chef vacancy that it has decided to use a less conventional way of choosing the right person for the job.
The restaurant will be holding a “cook off”, as seen on the world known TV series, Masterchef, in order to select a new chef to assist current head chef Paulo Monteiro in creating new culinary dishes for 2012.
The competition is running every Saturday night this month, starting at 7pm, when Monteiro will pair two hopeful applicants together to prepare a three-course dinner to be rated.
Those with the highest rated dishes will then be asked to return to cook again, until one participant remains.
All are invited to witness the competition and guests on the evening will be charged €15 per person, including a welcome drink and a three course meal.
