Le Méridien Penina Golf & Resort near Portimão has raised more than €5,000 in aid of UNICEF.
The funds, raised during golf, football and gastronomic events, among others, last year is now going towards the purchasing of learning materials and the building of areas for children in Romania and Pakistan to learn and play safely.
The involvement of Graça Pintor, a Le Méridien employee for 30 years and UNICEF ambassador for two, was fundamental in making the resort staff aware of the UNICEF project, Road to Awareness, which led to the fundraising efforts.
