Requests by parties in opposition to question two ministers have been overturned by the PS Socialist majority. Social democrats (PSD) wanted to question Mariana Vieira da Silva over the efficiency of measures brought in to combat the pandemic (on the basis of failings highlighted by the Accounts Court). The party also wanted to hear infrastructures minister Pedro Nuno Santos over the €122 million fine imposed in the United States on TAP for the delays the airline created in paying compensation to poorly served passengers. Meantime, right wing CHEGA wanted to hear the prime minister’s ‘disgraced’ former right hand deputy secretary of State Miguel Alves, but this request too has been denied.
