The Republic of Ireland Under-17s football squad, seven of whom are with English Premier League clubs, were full value for their win over Immortal Juniors at the Colina Verde Sports & Golf Resort at Maragota, near Moncarapacho, last week.
Coach John Morling made seven changes to his starting XI from the side which defeated Louletano 5-2. At the end of the contest, the Irish boss was more than pleased with his side’s showing and the victory which was secured by goals from Conor Wilkinson (Millwall), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa) and Alan O’Sullivan (Home Farm FC, Ireland).
“This week in the Algarve has been fantastic for the players and staff because we’ve got some important work done ahead of the Under-17 UEFA European Championship qualifiers next month in the Netherlands. We’ve had two matches against decent opposition along with a programme of training sessions at this superb facility here in the east Algarve”, he said.
