EIGHT EXOTIC snakes that were found by the authorities in the house of a Portuguese man who died on December 29 in Loulé have been re-homed.
The environmental branch of the GNR, SEPNA, found a home for the reptiles at Lisbon zoo because five of the specimens were poisonous and no Algarve-based animal parks would accept them.
As well as the snakes, the man, whose name has not been revealed, also kept two land tortoises, fish and wild snakes which were released into their natural habitat. Rats were also being bred in the house to feed the snakes.
