ONE OF the 13 construction companies and consortiums that submitted bids to construct the new Iberian Lynx reproduction centre in Silves has been chosen by Águas do Algarve, the water company in charge of the project.
“After the contract with the chosen company has been signed in the New Year, construction will begin,” said Teresa Fernandes from Águas do Algarve, adding “the chosen company will be announced in the New Year”. The reproduction centre is part of an environmental project to counteract the negative effects caused by the new Odelouca dam in Silves and is expected to be completed in December 2008.
