Lifeguards from the maritime rescue institute (ISN) will have a remote-control buoy at their disposal in the next bathing season. The development of the float has already cost €250,000, and is described as a potential “life-saver” in dangerous areas of crashing waves or near rocks. The creator of the device, Jorge Noras, said: “It is truly unique and there is nothing like it in the world. This buoy will make a difference in the number of lives we save.”
