To mark 10 years of the Mamamaratona Race for Life event organisers are hoping for 10,000 people to take part to raise funds and awareness about the fight against cancer at 10am on October 10 in Portimão.
The event, organised by the Algarve Oncology Association (AOA), will be used to help raise funds for the construction of Casa Flor das Dunas a residential building to be used to support cancer patients while receiving radiation treatment in Faro.
Participation in the race costs 7.50 Euros for adults and three Euros for children up to the age of 12 with each runner and walker receiving a race bib and T-shirt.
Runners and walkers from across the Algarve still have time to be able to register for the annual Mamamaratona race for life and registration can now be completed online via the Algarve Resident website.
The form is available to download clicking on the right of the page.
