Regional cuisine on show at ‘Portimão Gastronomic Week’

Portimão is currently hosting the second ‘Gastronomic Week’, designed to showcase the “quality and freshness” of regional cuisine during the Easter season.

Running until April 5, the event features 44 restaurants in four major areas – Praia da Rocha, the centre of Portimão, the riverside area and Alvor – as well as in Três Bicos, Praia do Vau and Mexilhoeira Grande.

Participating restaurants will feature a number of typical Algarvian dishes that “will make your mouth water”, such as octopus rice, shrimp ‘feijoada’ (stew) and Algarvian-style squid. There will also be a variety of desserts including carob and orange torte and everyone’s favourite local delicacy ‘ovos moles’ (made of egg yolks, sugar and almond).

Restaurants taking part in the ‘Gastronomic Week’ will display the event’s logo.
