LICENCES HAVE finally been granted to redevelop the derelict building between O Pátio restaurant and the tourist information point in Carvoeiro square.
Owners of the building, Progarve, have been attempting to renovate it since 1998; now eight years later, they have been authorised to redevelop the site into a café.
A spokesman for Progarve told The Resident: “Work has now started but we have no completion date at the moment as it is too soon to say when it will be finished.”
There are rough plans on the Progarve website at www.praiacarvoeiro.com (available in English) giving details of the coffee shop with cybercafé on the second floor.
