Record-breaking Christmas concert raises €2,500 for Salvation Army

Last Thursday (December 13), Spikes Restaurant at Vale do Lobo Golf Club played host to a special Christmas charity concert in support of the Salvation Army.

A packed audience, including many children, enthusiastically entered into the spirit of the occasion as they were entertained by the talented singers and musicians of Band on the Run and also the unique sound of the Salvation Army brass band conducted by Captain Luis Viriato.

An informal choir of children wowed the audience with a heart tugging set of seasonal songs. Such was the genuine and heartfelt support for the good causes supported by the Salvation Army that a total of 2500€ was raised on the night.

Julia Hammond, the indefatigable organiser of the evening, would like to thank most sincerely all the musicians, the staff of Spikes and everyone who gave so generously to ensure that Christmas was a little brighter for the good causes supported by the Salvation Army.
