Spikes Restaurant in Vale do Lobo once again played host to a special Christmas charity concert last Saturday, in support of the Salvation Army.
A packed audience, including many children, were entertained by the talented Jules and Co. (Julia Hammond singer, Martin Teutsher saxophone and John Evans pianist) who delivered a magical mix of American songbook classics and seasonal melodies. An additional highlight was the appearance of the brass band of the Salvation Army, conducted by Captain Luis Viriato, playing, along with some enthusiastic audience participation, traditional English and Portuguese carols.
A total of €2,820 was raised on the night for the Salvation Army. Julia Hammond, who organised the evening, thanked all who gave so generously to ensure that Christmas was a little brighter for the families supported by the Salvation Army.
