More than 80 players, professionals and amateurs alike, took part in the inaugural Blevins Franks Pro Am Golf Series at the Alamos Golf Course at CS Golf Morgado de Reguengo near Monchique on February 6.
Despite the recent rain, work by the grounds staff ensured that the fairways were in good condition. The greens were described as “a bit wooly” making the results all the more remarkable.

For the professionals, Sean Hawker shot a six under, 65 to win the event by 6 shots ahead of Gordon Brand Jnr. and establish a new course record in the process.
Meanwhile, Noel Murray scored 69 gross, 2 under par to lead the way for the amateurs.
At the prize presentation after a buffet lunch, Gavin Scott of sponsors Blevins Franks, presented Elídio Costa, Rogério Silva, Francisco Coelho and António Bonfim with the team prize and thanked the Algarve Resident and NovaGolf for supporting the event, organised by G4 Professional Golf Events.
