Recipe for success

A donation of £10,000 has been made to the Help for Heroes fund thanks to money raised from the Dine In With the Famous and Friends of the Captain James Phillippson Trust.

The cookbook was put together by Algarve resident Tricia Quinlan, the mother of Captain James Phillippson, the first soldier who was killed in the NATO deployment in Afghanistan in June 2006, and her supporters, with money raised being used to help the rehabilitation of injured soldiers.

Tricia Quinlan said: “We had 1,000 books printed and all but a few have gone with the majority being distributed here in the Algarve. We are enormously grateful for the support and generosity we have received.” This latest donation takes the total donated by the trust to the UK-based charity Help for Heroes to £26,750, money accumulated through various charity initiatives including the distribution of the books, a golfing calendar and charity golf tournament.

There are still a limited number of copies of the cookbook available.
