I’m not a specialist in these matters, but after causing such backlash, couldn’t Vila do Bispo’s council just admit it messed up and try to fix what it has done?
I doubt that all these geologists and nature specialists are just trying to give the council a hard time. It would suit the council to admit its mistake and try to work with these people instead of shunning them and trying to justify itself.
As they point out, the clifftop is unique in Europe and should be promoted as a tourist attraction instead of making headlines for bad reasons.
Hopefully someone at the council will soon have the good sense to come forth and start working constructively to improve the clifftop.
