Buy property here by all means but do not register your business here.
Social security, advanced corporation tax, the €10,000 VAT threshold, there are so many reasons why Portugal is an insane choice for small businesses to set up, unless you register in your home EC country and trade in Portugal, which tens of thousands of businesses already do.
