Re: Ellie case: shock court decision

Dear Editor,
Although your report on the kidnapping of Ellie was disturbing (I thought it had long been solved), it was not surprising. I have heard similar stories about the GNR. But this was a court case, should be beyond reproach, unbiased, open and, in such cases, there to help with the child at the centre.
Instead, we seem to have discrimination and the child is still in the care of the kidnapper, the father! Why does Faro court not follow through? I am sure the mother’s legal team will be looking at the constant delays, refusal to act but, on the evidence, this breaks EU rules and is discriminatory.
