That was a nice read. But I’m afraid the Danish flag is not the oldest, but the Skåne/Scania. Skåne used to belong to Denmark but had a different flag.

It’s red with a yellow cross so it’s something between Sweden and Denmark. It was hanging in Lund before the Danish flag was invented and it’s still hanging in lots of gardens here in the south of Sweden.
