Speaking at the recent Portugal Masters in Vilamoura, big event organiser João Lagos confirmed that his company was continuing to negotiate with Amaury Sports with a view of bringing the Dakar Rally back to Portugal.
According to João Lagos, the famous race, which will be held in South America again next January, may well return to its Lisbon-Algarve-Africa route as soon as 2011.
Meanwhile, the November 21 and 22 Rally Casinos do Algarve, last round of the national off-road championship, will open with a super special stage at the Motor Park scheduled to begin at 8.50pm on the Saturday.
