As the Algarve off-road racing season drew to a close around Vila do Bispo last weekend with co-drivers José Merceano and Francisco Pereira dominating the last event of the Selenia Trophy series, FIA rally organisers met in Monaco to discuss the sport’s future including the prospect of returning the Dakar to its traditional route.
At the same time, the official presentation of the Africa Eco Race scheduled to get under way on December 27 took place at its starting point of Portimão.
On track, it was confirmed that the Portuguese GT1 stage will return to the Algarve Motor Park in the same borough on the weekend of September 19 of 2010.
