National railway company Comboios de Portugal (CP) has announced a series of strikes until January 31.
In a press statement, the company announced that “some disruptions” to urban, regional and inter-regional train services would be felt between January 2 andJanuary 31 due to a series of strikes called by various unions representing railway workers. Alternative transportation will not be available and the impact of the strikes will be mainly felt in the mornings, read the statement. CP workers are contesting alterations to the labour code which includes a reduction of 50% in pay for working bank holidays and overtime.
