Workers for CP (Comboios de Portugal) are operating a partial strike in Porto today as part of syndicates continued pressure for increased wages. The circulation of trains will be affected until midday, causing “significant upset” to urban and regional schedules.
With the government insisting public sector pay will not be increased this year, in spite of galloping inflation, a further rail strike is planned, this time for the Lisbon area, on Friday.
