The life blood of any charity is its volunteers. For over six years volunteers from around the globe helped to create a holiday centre solely for people with special needs near Moncarapacho. With the centre now fully licensed and open to receive guests, it is the local supporters who are playing a vital part in its continued development.
Over the past 13 months, Christina Toft, ably supported by husband Jeff and a dedicated team of helpers, have raised over €6,500 through their popular monthly quizzes. Last week’s event saw 50 guests enjoying supper before getting down to the serious business of quizzing. Joint runners-up were ‘The Newbies’ and ‘The Mixed Bunch’ but the winning team was ‘Four Men in a Boat’ – Gren Bomfield, Peter Panama, Robert Degers and Geoff Bellingham.
