The final winter season indoor Quiz for Animals held at Quinta das Oliveiras in Poço Barreto on March 24 raised a total of €716 for the Donkey Sanctuary in Estombar.
A supper which included Chicken Paprika, Pork Tenderloin and a Bobotie (a mild, sweet South African curry) followed by Apple and Raisin Crumble and Strawberry Gateau, was served and the evening ended with a new style raffle.
Money raised has already paid for a much-needed implant scanner at the Donkey Sanctuary and is already saving time and travel costs in visits to the vet, while €650 has been set aside for the neutering programme which has sterilised 11 cats and 13 dogs since the scanner arrived.
The next quiz will be held on May 5 at the same location, where participants will be moved outside onto the terrace.
All are welcome to join for the upcoming summer season that will be able to accommodate eight quiz teams instead of the winter seven.
