Quinta dos Vales winery in Estômbar is in the final stages of preparing its 12th ‘Open Door’ event, taking place this Sunday (April 12).
Besides the usual wine tastings and presentations, there will also be an archery demonstration, musical and dance performances, zumba and yoga classes, a falconry presentation, horse show, regional fair and even guided tours of the winery.
The event will take place between 11am and 7pm, with performances scheduled for between 1pm and 5pm.
But as always, it will be the wine that takes centre stage.
“We will be presenting the Selecta white 2014 and the new Duo Castelão & Touriga Nacional Rosé 2014. Additionally, there will be free tastings of various Marquês dos Vales wines. Come and taste our Grace Vineyard red 2009, selected last year as ‘The Best Wine of the Algarve’ and recently nominated as one of the ‘Best Wines of Portugal’ by Revista de Vinhos,” say organisers.
Entry to the ‘Open Door’ is free and everyone is welcome. Past events have always attracted thousands, particularly wine lovers.
