It’s almost time for the fifth edition of Quinta do Lago’s Triathlon competition, which will take place on Sunday, October 16.
Organised by the resort’s The Campus sports complex, the race is open to anyone who would like to participate, from beginners to professional athletes.
“Used by some of the world’s top triathletes for training, the course is designed to allow beginner, recreational and elite athletes to test themselves in the beauty and sunshine of the Ria Formosa Natural Park,” the resort says.
There are two paths to choose from: the Sprint, which will challenge athletes to swim for 750 metres, cycle for 20km and run for 5km; and the Super Sprint, a shorter route of 350m of swimming, 10km of cycling and 2.5km of running.
The Campus also offers athletes an opportunity to buy “a one-piece garment that can be worn through the swim, bike and run of a triathlon race.
“The Campus Tri Suit is designed to keep you ventilated, aerodynamic and hydrodynamic throughout the race, setting you up to smash your goals and the best possible success,” says the sports complex.
The garment’s price ranges from €169 (women) to €179 (men), while registration for the triathlon costs €25 for non-federated athletes and €15 for federated athletes.
