Quinta do Lago has announced that its clubhouse which serves its South and North courses is due to undergo a “comprehensive upgrade over the winter”, with the refurbishment work due to be completed by the end of March 2020.
The resort is promising golfers a “sparkling new golf experience” after the clubhouse receives a “modern and sophisticated makeover”, which will be undertaken by local Portuguese architects Essencia Architects – the company that designed Quinta do Lago’s award-winning multi-sports hub The Campus.
Says Quinta do Lago, the revamp will “elevate the clubhouse to the same five-star standard of the resort’s other outstanding luxury golf and lifestyle facilities”.
“Spacious new eating areas” have been designed indoors and outside to create a “contemporary new look and feel for guests”, says the resort, with the renovated rooms “providing the perfect hub for golf groups, golf tournaments and business meetings”.
The outdoor space is also being expanded and furnished with a “modern, attractive and environmentally-friendly decking area”, while new floor-to-ceiling windows will be introduced throughout the building to add increased light and deliver improved views of the resort surroundings.
Lastly, golfers will also benefit from the installation of new men’s and women’s changing rooms.
Sean Moriarty, chief executive at Quinta do Lago, said: “In many ways, the clubhouse is the focal point for golfers at Quinta do Lago and it is essential that we have the right image to reflect this.
“The old building was a great servant to the resort, but its look and feel were getting tired, and we wanted a vibrant and contemporary new design that will appeal to the modern-day golfer and their families,” he said.
Moriarty added that the refurbishment programme will put the new clubhouse “on par with the other first-class facilities we have at the resort, and I’m sure it will add greatly to the luxury golf and leisure experience that we offer to all our members, residents and guests”.
