Quinta do Lago has announced that it is carrying out significant renovation work on its ‘Norte’ golf course to bring it to the world-class standards to which the resort’s golfers have become accustomed.
All greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation and drainage systems as well as golf cart paths will be reconstructed using all the latest technology available, the resort has announced in a recent press release.
In charge of the new concept is renowned American designer Beau Welling, working with the captain of the European Ryder Cup team for 2014 Paul McGingley.
“We feel very honoured to have been chosen to help Quinta do Lago with the renovation of Norte,” said Welling.
“There are no words to express our enthusiasm with this project, as we are genuinely convinced that the end result will make Norte one of the best courses of Europe,” he strongly added.
Renovation works began in November of last year and should be finished by October 2014.
