Quinta do Lago invests €50 million in renovations

A €50 million plan to breathe new life into the Algarve’s luxurious Quinta do Lago resort is nearing its completion.

In a statement, the resort revealed that it still plans to build a state-of-the-art sports complex with “the very best amenities for sport lovers and over 25 activities” as well as a brand new clubhouse this year, though most of the projects included in its original plan have been completed.

Quinta do Lago now boasts its own Paul McGinley Golf Academy, a TaylorMade Performance Center, an ActiveQ gym and a mini-golf course.

The resort, often described as “the most exclusive in Europe”, also opened the Bovino Steakhouse – which includes the Bovino Pool Bar – the Pure Boutique Café and the lakeside bar The Shack.

Quinta do Lago also launched a new development entitled San Lorenzo North, with 26 plots of land available for the construction of villas. They all boast views over some of the San Lorenzo golf holes as well as the sea and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Four plots have already been sold.

Quinta do Lago CFO Miguel Sousa said there was a need to “renovate and rejuvenate” the resort. According to Sousa, the investment made in the last five years has resulted in an “increase in visitors and in sales”.
