April 27 marks yet another edition of Querença’s ‘Festa dos Folares’, which celebrates the traditional Portuguese Easter cake and pays homage to Our Lady of Grace.
Although the event kicks off on April 26 with a dance at Casa do Povo de Querença led by accordionist José Manuel Passadinhas, the actual Easter cake can only be enjoyed the following day when the fair opens.
Guests will be able to sample the Querença-style ‘folar’ starting at 10am all the way through 7pm in front of the local church.
Religious processions as well as musical entertainment are also scheduled.
The event is organised by the Comissão de Festas da Paróquia and the union of parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim, supported by Loulé council and Casa do Povo de Querença.
