This year has already seen many birthday celebrations and parties for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th birthday, and on September 22, Faith in Music will present Last Night of the Proms at St Luke’s Church to help the Queen of England celebrate her special year. The concert will begin promptly at 6pm in the presence of John Buck, the British Ambassador to Portugal.
Nigel Gaze, playing the piano and organ, will be accompanied by Auke Kempkes on bass, and vocals will be supplied by Alma Meszticzki, supported by the Ynysybwl Welsh Ladies Choir. Entry to the concert is 10 euros and for the performance, followed by dinner at the French restaurant adjacent to the church at 8pm, the price is 20 euros.
