LOULÉ Câmara has just completed work to renovate the roof of Quarteira’s market. Work began in December last year, following the detection of the poor condition of the wooden roof, which, in some places, had even collapsed. The total cost of the works, which were completed in half the expected time, was 90,000 euros. Following the installation of new fridges and benches by the câmara in 2003, the recent work represents a further improvement, which benefits stallholders and visitors alike. Quarteira market is popular for its supply of fresh fish and seafood. It contributes to the Algarve’s rich gastronomy and is visited by thousands of tourists who choose the region as their holiday destination.
