The Dom José Hotel in Quarteira will host a conference on dog nutrition on Saturday, November 11.
Organised by Iron Dog Algarve, the event will be led by animal nutrition specialists Ana Teresa Peres and Joana Carido who will explain how to provide a complete, balanced and healthy diet for dogs.
The duo has recently released a book, entitled ‘ABCão: o livro de alimentação e bem-estar do seu cão’, which explains in its introduction that “dogs are also what they eat”.
The conference will touch on a number of subjects: the advantages of different kinds of diets; learning how to interpret nutrition tables on dog food packages; learning to calculate how much dogs should eat; the best super foods and which should be avoided; supplements and “much more”.
The event is supported by the Portuguese Kennel Club (CPC) and costs €10 per person to attend. It is open to all and prior registration is required.
