A report in the Algarve Resident edition October 1 said “Residents win quarry fight”.
The residents association has asked us to point out that it had not yet won the legal battle to stop the construction of a quarry in Tavira.
Loulé court ruled on September 16 that it had been proven that the licensing of the quarry had not been correct and as a consequence of this an injunction was served by the court to suspend activities at the quarry at Cerro de Leiria.
The case to halt the construction of the quarry will now continue.
