Algarve’s beaches achieved good quality test results during the 2010 bathing season.
According to data released by the Algarve regional water authority (ARH), of a total of 106 beaches analysed , 94% had excellent quality, 5% good and 1% acceptable.
ARH noted that there has been a gradual improvement in water quality over the last three years and says this is as a result of measures taken to increase the efficiency in treating wastewater.
