BARLAVENTO HOSPITAL in Portimão received a quality guarantee certificate last week, from the Secretary of State for Health, Carmen Pignatelli.
She praised the services that the hospital provides for patients, including the on-site pharmacy, the immunohematology and x-ray departments and its state of the art equipment. Hospital Chief of Staff, Luís Batalau, said the distinction was very important and signified a rise in the responsibility of institutions and services.
There are 178 new projects in the pipeline, financed by the government and the European Community, to improve hospital conditions and services in Portugal.
