A python was seized by GNR police on April 18 in Albufeira.
During a routine street patrol on Rua Bartolomeu Dias, the police intercepted a Portuguese man carrying a Python Reguis, for which he had no legal documentation governing the private possession of exotic animals.
A fine was issued while the animal was taken to Zoo Crazy World Algarve in Algoz.
Meanwhile, during a canine inspection in Portimão by the GNR’s environmental protection unit (Núcleo de Proteção Ambiental da GNR de Portimão), 13 dogs were inspected, two of which considered a dangerous breed.
In total, nine infractions were detected and three fines issued for lack of registration documents, ownership title, microchip and vaccinations, and the mandatory sterilisation of dangerous dogs.
These violations incur fines starting from €2,675.
