Putting the Algarve’s hidden gems on the map

The popularity of the Algarve’s golden triangle continues to rise in 2022. Certain areas have always been the go-to places for many tourists, like Quinta do Lago or Vale do Lobo.

While these locations will continue to be popular choices, there are other areas within the Algarve that are slowly capturing the attention of guests looking for a change of scenery. At SandyBlue, we have been working with owner partners within these areas so that their properties will be front and centre when people are researching where to stay.

The Algarve’s hidden gems

As huge champions for the Algarve, SandyBlue knows the region inside and out. Having established a great network of owners within the golden triangle, we are seeing new interest in what we would call the Algarve’s hidden gems.

The western areas of the Algarve, often considered the most scenic, are attracting tourists who want a relaxing holiday exploring the beaches and cliffs. Portimão, Lagos and Praia da Luz are just a few areas that offer this.

Another stand out location we have been building partnerships in is Carvoeiro. It’s traditional feel, with a rich history as a former fishing village, offers a very different type of holiday. This is what many tourists are looking for now – culture, history and relaxation.

Beating out the competition

Being adaptable in this industry is so important. The SandyBlue team definitely recognises that going above and beyond for our owner partners is the best way to achieve success for all involved.

Of course, adapting also means breaking out of what is familiar and really focussing on expansion. The top choices in the Algarve, like Vale do Lobo or Quinta do Lago, are obviously here to stay. However, we want to help owners beyond these hotspots so that the Algarve as a whole can continue to grow. The wider the choice of locations, the more our guests can give back to the local communities here.

In terms of attracting guests to stay in your villa, these areas also see less competition from other properties. It means you can easily attain a steady stream of rental income. Establishing your property in these locations, with a real emphasis on a quality service, will truly make the difference.

The Algarve is growing stronger!

It has been fantastic to see this beautiful region grow stronger. There continues to be unprecedented interest and bookings for holidays here. With more areas within the region gaining popularity, it means only good things for the Algarve and property owners.
