Pudsey Bear makes first ever trip aboard

The BBC Children in Need appeal was started in 1980 and this year, for the first time, Pudsey Bear has left the shores of the UK to travel to the Algarve. He is residing at Centre Algarve, the holiday centre for young people with special needs, whilst helping to raise funds for Children in Need and raising awareness of the facilities that the centre, near Moncarapacho, has to offer.

Saturday, August 3 is the ‘big day’ when Pudsey will be welcoming the general public to meet him and the meerkats, parrots, eagle owls and even a three-legged goat at Centre Algarve, on the Olhão road, just a short distance from Moncarapacho town centre.

There will be numerous activities and fun events including a fashion show, beer and wine tasting, beauty parlour, magician, bouncy castle, cake fayre and BBQ plus a free health check. The action gets underway at 12 noon and goes on until 6pm.
