Pudding on Fridays – a memoir by Derek Edwards

Much of Pudding on Fridays was written by the author in the Algarve. The story of his life carries the reader through the City of London, the Stock Exchange, the Central Criminal Court and life at boarding school during and directly following the Second World War.

Derek Edwards spent his business life in the City where he became a freeman, liveryman, member of the Court of Common Council and Sheriff of the City of London. He served as a Magistrate for 26 years and his interest in the arts led him to become Chairman of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This book covers a variety of experiences, including his time as an amateur jockey, as an officer in the King’s Dragoon Guards, meeting Heads of State and of course his family and their love of Portugal.
