Public Ministry drops murder charges against SEF inspectors accused of murder at Lisbon airport

Summing up at the end of the trial of three SEF inspectors, accused of killing Ukrainian father-of-two Ihor Homeniuk at Lisbon airport last March (click here), public prosecutor Leonor Machado has asked for the crimes of ‘qualified homicide’ to be reduced to ‘aggravated offence to physical integrity resulting in death’. This way the penalties will be less than the 25 years maximum for murder.
